The attacks against DeSantis come as the Florida governor prepares a possible bid for the GOP presidential nomination against Trump. In a recent Morning Consult poll, 61 percent of potential GOP primary voters surveyed said they would support Trump in 2024, with 18 percent for DeSantis.
DeSantis’ run for Jacksonville mayor also lost Tuesday night, when Democrat Donna Deegan defeated Republican Daniel Davis.

This is shocking,” Trump said in a Truth Social post Wednesday. “If they would have asked me to endorse, he would easily won. Too proud to do that. Fools! This is a HUGE LOSS for the Republican Party. Remember, ‘Rob’ only won because of me!!!”
