A town hall in Queens that hosted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, descended into chaos on Friday, with some of her constituents calling her down while others showed their support.
“American citizens before migrants,” a man with small American flags shouted as he approached the congresswoman, according to footage captured by Freedom News TV.
“Where are you on the migrant issue? You’re a piece of s–t,” he continued to shout.
The 33-year-old congresswoman laughed off the incident and replied “OK” as the man was escorted out. But it appeared to be the first of many interruptions to come.
The protesters questioned Ocasio-Cortez’s support for US funding for Ukraine in its fight against invading Russian forces, her stance on the border crisis and her support for raising the debt ceiling.
“Stop funding this war, there are many communities that need help and need that money,” another woman shouted as she was led out of the auditorium in Corona.
“America first. Only legal migrants vetted,” “Stop funding Ukraine,” “AOC: An Obvious Criminal,” and “AOC: Stop pushing drag queen story hour,” were among the signs several of her constituents brought to City Hall and held up throughout the event.
At one point, the member of the far-left “Squad” made it known that she believes the Biden administration should abolish the debt limit, drawing both shouts and cheers from the crowd.
“$100 billion for Ukraine that you voted for!” shouted an irate man at Ocasio-Cortez after the debt ceiling remark.
“It’s not your turn! How about waiting your turn,” one irate person yelled at the man upset about Ukraine’s funding.
“Freedom of speech,” another shouted back.
Ocasio-Cortez’s town halls are known to attract somewhat hostile crowds, with hecklers and frequent interruptions.
Last year, protesters with hand drums chanting, “AOC has to go,” stormed one of her town halls and prevented her from addressing her constituents for several minutes.
The congresswoman danced to the beat while the thugs shouted for her to be voted out of office.
